Freiheit stood in the shallow creek, cool water rushing through his paws and legs. He needed some time on his own, as he had barely been in Thunder pack for 3 months, and being around so many wolves was unnerving him.
But, he never said he didn't like it here. The wolves were nice to him, to an extent, and prey was plentiful. Not once had he gone hungry, not even in the harshest Winter. He enjoyed it here, and wouldn't leave unless he had a very good reason.
Freiheit was fine with his position in the pack too. Being an Alpha would have put too much stress on the young wolf, and he would have no idea how to react to problems except to run. He didn't want to be Beta either, they also had responsibilities that he would dread. Constantly making sure there was enough food for every wolf, checking the borders for stray animals and wolves. He would have gotten bored, tired and angry by then.

Hiro was walking by the creek, and following it up stream. When suddenly, he noticed Freiheit; who was sitting by the creek. Quietly he decided to walk up to him. "Hello Freiheit." He said, "Is there something wrong?"

Freiheit turned to the Alpha male, "No, nothing." He answered. His voice held an odd accent, that made it hard to understand, "I was just thinking how life here is different." The hazel orbs of his eyes were clouded and distant, as though he could see something no one else could.
